Honing the young minds of the 21st Century Learners
Aldea ES through the years! Tayo para sa edukasyon! |
It
was in 2012 when 800 families arrived and first occupied the newly- developed
12 hectare land named as Southville 10. A relocation site located at Sitio
Daong, Barangay Plaza Aldea, Tanay, Rizal. On its first year, most of the
families residing encountered numerous problems. The education of the children
was one of the problems to be addressed. Through the the local government unit
of Tanay and DepEd Tanay I, the school age children were accommodated in the
following schools: Balimbing Elementary School, Don Domingo Capistrano Memorial
Elementary School, and Ilaya Elementary School. However, the resources were
limited to the families residing in Southville 10 resulting the frequent
absenteeism and drop out of learners.

To
address these problems, parents file a petition for the establishment of the
school in the relocation site. Thus, the petition for the establishment of the
school was addressed to cater the learners for quality education.
Aldea
Elementary School was officially established on June 03, 2013 as an independent
elementary public school in Tanay headed by its first ever school head, Mr.
Gerardo B. Galupo, a Master Teacher I of SRBSMES and school head of Bitik Elementary
School under the supervision of the then District Supervisor of Tanay I, Dr.
Marcelia R. De Villa. It started with nine teachers assigned and with 559
learners enrolled. Through the tripartite agreement, the Pasig City Government
subsidized the salary of the teachers; the NHA provided the raw houses to be
used as temporary classrooms while waiting for the three- storey building to be
constructed; the Tanay Municipal Government offered transportation service of
the nine teachers assigned and provided other services needed for the school.

As a newly- established school, Aldea
Elementary School has so many things to offer. The school’s strength is its 21ST
Century Teachers. As the population grows fast, the school ensures the
environment safe and conducive to learning. It is where the learners enjoy
their rights for quality education. Indeed, education is for everyone yet poverty
is everywhere. However, as the school, the parents, and the learners instill
the value of bayanihan, learning will
be possible.

Moreover,
the school continuously faces challenges. The lack of resources must be
addressed to lessen the poor performance of some learners especially those in
the lower sections. Teachers are flexible and resourceful enough to surpass
this challenge. On the other hand, the school allows its teachers for their
professional growth and development. Providing them the opportunity to innovate
and learn new teaching skills.
